6 new post-primary schools are to be established in September 2020 in line with the government's four-year plan to established 42 new schools between 2019 to 2022. Scoil Sinéad Limited patron body will be applying for all the 6 post-primary schools. Using the new Online Patronage Process System (OPPS) on the Department of Education website we are asking parents to support us by voting for us to become patronage of these schools to enable us to continue the great work we are doing. 

 

The areas identified by the Department are:

  1. Blanchardstown West / Dublin 15 & Blanchardstown Village D15 (regional Solution)- school size 800 pupils
  2. Goatstown / Stillorgan / Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, Dublin - school size 800 pupils
  3. Enfield, (Kilcock school planning area) Co. Meath - school size 500 pupils
  4. Citywest / Saggart, (Tallaght& Newcastle Rathcoole school planning areas) Regional solution – school size 1000 pupils
  5. Dublin 6  Clonskeagh, & Dublin 6W (Regional Solution) – 1000 pupils
  6. Kilcoole & Greystones (Regional Solution) - school size 800 pupils

Parents and Guardians with children who will be attending primary school between 2020 to 2024  live in the specified areas identified by the Department of Education is eligible to vote.

Scoil Sinéad believes that all children should learn at their own pace and their own learning style and not conform to any one method. Being involved in the community and developing our community is a big part of our curriculum aiming to show how important every job is to the development of the community and show the children all the options they have in their lives. We aim to nourish and give children the tools they need so that they can use their individual talents and abilities to make their community great.

Scoil Sinéad's ethos is that every child has a right to an education no matter their social economy, religion, ethnic background or their abilities.

Scoil Sinéad Limited is looking for expression of interest from parents/guardians who would like to have a Post Primary School in their area under our patronage. 

The Department of Education and Skills on the13 April 2018 under Minister Bruton announce the opening of 42 new primary and second-level schools - 26 schools at primary level and 16 at post-primary level. https://www.education.ie/en/Press-Events/Press-Releases/2018-press-releases/PR18-04-13.html

Scoil Sinéad will be applying for patronage of these of these five brand new second-level schools to open in the following areas when the patronage process starts:

  1. Blanchardstown West / Dublin 15 & Blanchardstown Village D15 (reginal Solution)- school size 800 pupils
  2. Goatstown / Stillorgan / Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, Dublin - school size 800 pupils
  3. Enfield, (Kilcock school planning area) Co. Meath - school size 500 pupils
  4. Citywest / Saggart, (Tallaght& Newcastle Rathcoole school planning areas) Regional solution – school size 1000 pupils
  5. Dublin 6  Clonskeagh, & Dublin 6W (Regional Solution) – 1000 pupils

Scoil Sinéad was granted trustee patron of the first post primary school we applied for under this patronage thanks to the volunteers and the parents that voted for us. This was down to parents believing in our model. The patronage process is down to parental preferences and as such you the parents have the control to enable us to be patrons of these schools.

If you are interested please fill in the attached information and we will keep you updated on when the patronage process has started in your area.

Please note submitting this expression of interest information to Scoil Sinéad is not admission to the school if our patronage bid is successful.
Under GDPR only the Scoil Sinéad Limited Director and Secretary will have access to the information.

The Department of Education and skills have rolled out the new Online Patronage Process System (OPPS). This process allows parents to vote for their preferred patron for the four new Post-Primary Schools to be opened in September 2019.

  • The areas identified by the Department are:
  • Donaghmede - Howth - D13 (Belmayne/Clongriffin area)
  • Galway City & Oranmore (Regional Solution)
  • Laytown & Drogheda (Regional Solution)
  • Wicklow

Parents and Guardians with children who will be attending post-primary school between 2019 to 2023 born between 2006 and 2011 and live in the specified areas identified by the Department of Education is eligible to vote.

Scoil Sinead has a multi-denominational ethos, but the huge backing for it was not only about religion: its 697 name count was more than 10 times the number gathered by Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Education and Training Board (DDETB), also a multi-denominational patron.

Scoil Sinead established only in May 2016 and, when it bid for the school, it was not fully recognised as a patron. In November, patronage was awarded to DDETB — but with Scoil Sinead as a trustee partner. Read More

Scoil Sinead

Scoil Sinead is a new organisation applying for the patronage of a primary school. It is already working in partnership with the Dublin and Dún Laoghaire ETB in Griffeen Community College, the new post-primary school for Lucan to open in September 2017.  The Board of Patrons of Scoil Sinead aims to embrace the desire for diversity in education and is committed to the inclusion of all its students regardless of their abilities. Scoil Sinead plans to operate a Multi-denominational, co-educational, English-medium primary school. read more
